As I sit here reflecting on my years growing up; I can’t help but laugh at the common theme that seems to invade my memories. With every trip to the beach, bike ride at our favorite vacation spot, gathering after a dance recital, and every holiday in between – one thing remained constant. Ice cream.
Probably not what you were expecting right? But that’s how it was. I hardly remember an evening that wasn’t concluded with a big bowl of ice cream. To us, it was normal.
Unfortunately, that “normal” doesn’t look so good on a body. After years of dancing every waking moment, college life limited the exercise, yet welcomed the ice cream. It wasn’t long before I realized something needed to change.
Luckily, I found my nutrition plan and quickly fell in love with a healthy lifestyle. Taking it one step at a time, I’ve transitioned my eating habits and now thoroughly enjoy learning about nutrition and fitness each and every day, which currently includes working towards my Health Coach Certification! A healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to mean bland and boring. But it took me a long time to realize that.
Now, I have come to absolutely love cooking and baking, creating recipes and transforming family favorites into something a bit healthier to enjoy. But most importantly, I’ve learned how you can still enjoy ice cream along the way ;) Because let’s be realistic, everything tastes better with a little ice cream on top!
